Privacy Policy

The short version:

fjtyping runs entirely in your web browser. Your typing stats, settings, and progress are saved on your own device and are never sent to us. We don't run a server that collects your data, and we don't sell anything about you.

1. Who we are

fjtyping ("the app", "we", "us") is a free typing-practice web app operated by the site owner. You can reach us at hello@fjtyping.com.

2. What data we store, and where

The app saves information locally in your browser using the browser's built-in storage (localStorage). This stays on your device. It can include:

Your typing results and statistics (speed, accuracy, streaks, history).
Your preferences and settings (theme, chosen hand-guide style, daily goal, keyboard options).
A local profile, including any username you enter.
Lesson progress, achievements, and similar app state.

This information is not transmitted to us and is not stored on any server we control. We cannot see it.

3. Accounts and "sign in"

Any sign-in or profile feature in the app is local to your browser only. It does not create a cloud account, and nothing you enter is uploaded to us.

4. Cost

fjtyping is completely free. There are no paid plans, subscriptions, or in-app purchases, and we never ask for or collect payment details.

5. Third-party services

To display its fonts, the app loads web fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and standard request information as part of serving them. See Google's privacy information at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use advertising trackers.

6. Cookies

The app itself does not set tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to remember your progress and settings on your device.

7. Your control over your data

You're in control. You can delete everything the app has stored at any time by clearing your browser's site data / storage for this site, or by using your browser's "clear browsing data" option. Doing so removes your saved progress and settings.

8. Children

fjtyping is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above.
